John Jauregui

Vice President of Community Initiatives

John Jauregui has a passion for marriage. He has a passion for family and he has a passion for Georgia.

That is why John currently serves as the Vice-President for Community Initiatives at Georgia Family Council (GFC). As VP for Community Initiatives, John directs the Georgia Healthy Marriage Initiative project, a project designed to strengthen marriages and families within Georgia; thereby significantly reducing the divorce rate. He also directs all other Community Initiatives for GFC.

After concluding a 34-year career with Lockheed-Martin, John, an engineering manager, felt the call to full-time marriage ministry. He joined GFC in the Spring of 2002 and, in addition to running a full-time marriage program, is also pursuing his Master of Divinity Degree at New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary.

John and his wife, Janice, have been married for 35 years. They met in Atlanta, where he was pursuing his engineering degree at Georgia Tech. After graduation, they moved to California and returned to Georgia in 1991. Janice is currently a floral and dress designer. They have two daughters, Jacqueline and Jessica, and one granddaughter, Isabella.

Paralleling his professional career, John and his wife, Janice, have directed the Marriage Preparation Seminars at Johnson Ferry Baptist Church in Marietta for twelve years. In addition to traveling, cruising the high seas and getting some sun at the beach, John and Janice are dedicated to helping couples get the pre-marital training they need for a successful and satisfying marriage.

John is pursuing his passion at GFC. Under his leadership, the Georgia Healthy Marriage Initiative has developed into an exciting project that is active in six communities across Georgia. There is no doubt that it will continue to grow and will become a dominant force in shaping the lives of numerous marriages and families throughout our state.
